“MY SIMPLE VISION FOR HR IS THAT WE NEED TO CONTINUE TO NURTURE AND ENHANCE HUMAN EXPERIENCE. GUIDE EMPLOYEES AND COMPANIES TO WORK TOWARDS A BRIGHTER FUTURE. TOGETHER.”

Kunjal Kamdar, Global Employer Branding Lead, TietoEVRY

spills some beans from his career journey so far and talks about
some trends shaping one of the most critical functions for
businesses.

“Human” This was the exact term that inspired me to move towards HR profession. A profession that celebrates the word Human, a profession that helps humans reach their true potential and help them grow with the company. The term “human” is really a powerful word. But as Peter Parker aka Spiderman says “With great power comes great responsibility.”

I started my career with sourcing candidates and then moved to recruitment and social hiring and now I am working in the exciting space of employer branding. It’s been a great learning journey so far and I intend to keep learning. The diversity of roles and responsibilities has helped me understand various touch points in an employee’s life. Right from the time they apply for a job, till they exit the company and even after that.

2020 has not only impacted us all, but also has taught us many new things.

Things that we never imagined and were never prepared for. My biggest learning was that empathy is something we all must embrace. Empathy towards employees, vendors, employers, stakeholders and our society in general. It’s all about being aware about your surroundings, being considerate and supportive. 2020 has challenged the leaders and those who are able to lead with empathy will succeed in winning employees trust.

The key lesson that I want to pass on to the future HR professionals is to always keep your eyes and ears open and study the employee life cycle. It’s not just about hiring or having exit interviews. It’s the moments that matter during the entire journey of an employee in the organisation that we need to work on. It’s all about experience. Employee experience needs great focus and we must not miss this bus.
